NaNoWriMo 2008

Hi All,

This month of November is the National Novel Writing Month. This is the second week of the month long contest and the third year I've participated in it. The idea is to write at least a 50,000 word novel in one months time.

When I first started participating in this novel writing contest/challenge three years ago, I wasn't sure I could keep up the pace that it requires and write that fast. Now, after my third year I find I have no trouble keeping up with it. In fact, I try to get in at least 2000 words a day amongst the many other things I have to get done. It is a lot of fun to participate and well worth the time.

Why don't you check it out for yourself and see what you think?

An update on my success with the Weight Watchers program:

Over all I have lost about 12 pounds so far and counting. I have to admit that I've done a bit of yo-yoing at times with my weight during birthday celebrations, but I just keep at it each day. And even though it has been a little tough at times, I think the journey is well worth it!

Here's to a slimmer me, and you as well!

I think that you're commitment to write a novel in a month is really cool!

Great job on losing all that weight! Diet and exercise are the key to losing weight. Keep it up!

Great job! I will keep at my new work-out routine too and hopefully will see some results like you have.

Wish I could keep up your pace on the NaNo... but one of these days I will actually figure out how to manage my time better! :)

Thanks, Hauntfox, for your comments and encouragement.

You're right that it is important to both watch what we eat, and in what amounts, AND include as much exercise in each day as we are able to.

As you know, each person is different in their health and abilities.
We need to remember to pace our selves and be careful not to over do it.

That is great, Kristy, that you have developed a work-out routine for yourself. That is a big step to take in improving ones health. Let us know how you are doing with it from time to time. We'd all love to hear about it.

Managing ones time has always been a difficult thing to master for all of us. Probably even from the beginning of time. :)

It is hard to fit as many things into each day as one wants, especially while raising a family, but I know you will have your time at NaNo some day, or anything else you may want to accomplish. Hang in there for now and just do what you can.
