Rewrites, Rewrites, Rewrites...

I really love the way my new novel "Unicorns and Orchids" has come out, though there is still the sequel to be written. (And I have plenty of ideas of how that will proceed jotted down.) Now I have been busily engaged in the rewrite phase. You may have a good story, but if you want a really great novel, rewrite it several times. Not just once, but at least 3 or 4 times.You hear this advice from most writers and it's true. That doesn't mean you have to completely change it, just look for errors and tighten up your writing. You will really see a difference in the impact it will have on your story.
